We are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2025 Clyde Marine Recruitment Photography Competition! This year’s entries showcased an exceptional level of talent and creativity, capturing the true essence of life at sea—from breathtaking scenery and unique wildlife to powerful maritime moments.

The competition was tougher than ever, with entries pouring in from seafarers across the globe. Our judges were blown away by the incredible perspectives that highlight the magic and challenges of the maritime industry. After much deliberation, we’re proud to reveal the winners:

First Prize Winner: Mark O’Connell

Mark’s photography truly stood out, and choosing just one image proved impossible! We selected two of his stunning photos taken during his transatlantic voyages aboard a Superyacht—a testament to his skill and eye for capturing memorable images.

  Rafal’s photo of a Scottish sunrise over the Port of Lerwick was simply stunning. There’s nothing quite like a Scottish morning!
• Stunning Scenery: Kerry Ward
  Kerry captured a memorable shot during her first trip as a qualified OOW aboard the NLV Pharos—a trip she will never forget!
• Stunning Scenery: Brian Laird
  Brian’s photograph of the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska, with its frosted peaks and intricate eroded lines, is a breathtaking reminder of the power and beauty of nature.
• Stunning Scenery: Aleksandrs Spiridonovs
  Aleksandrs’ dramatic capture of the Spitsbergen summer aboard the MS Nordstjernen featured striking skies over the largest and only permanently populated island in the Svalbard archipelago of Norway.
